Additional Information about this counsellor or psychologist:

Tricia has a Masters of Social Work (MSW) from U.B.C. She has 10 years experience in individual counselling and group work. Tricia uses a variety of approaches, and is trained in EMDR for empowerment and working through trauma.

Tricia uses a client-centred empowerment model in her counselling. She integrates many counselling approaches to best suit the needs and goals of each person. She encourages a variety of expressive modes, using drawing, talking, visualization, journaling, and body awareness.

Tricia understands the importance of attachment issues and developmental needs, and how these impact personal growth. Our healing work is often linked to gaining insight into our needs and figuring out healthy ways to meet these needs.

Tricia also believes in the importance of seeing our struggles within a societal, cultural and family context. For example, this may mean externalizing the limiting beliefs that we have learned from others. The healing process is about learning to trust our own inner wisdom.
