Maria is a Registered Clinical Counsellor, with a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology. She does Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for treatment of Anxiety Disorders in adults, especially Panic Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Specific Phobias. CBT provides rapid and long lasting results, by educating you about the cycle of anxiety, and providing you with practical skills to break this cycle, and ultimately become your own therapist.

Maria has 17 years of experience in the field of anxiety treatment and research, including 6 years of assessments and treatment of anxiety patients at the Anxiety Disorders Unit, Vancouver Hospital. She has also published numerous articles on anxiety treatment outcome, and has trained Psychology and Psychiatry Interns in CBT.

She also provides a "preventative mental health package" for people who feel overwhelmed and are suffering from stress/burnout, and want to create a more balanced lifestyle. The cost of these 6 session packages are covered by many extended healthcare plans. She is in private practice in West Vancouver.
