Dr. Unger has been with Clair Hawes & Associates since 1988 and has been a psychologist for 28 years. She originally worked as a child psychologist, later extending her practice to include youth who had emotional, behaviour and/or learning problems. Dr. Unger also works with adults ands young persons with neurological conditions, personal injuries and persons who have experienced trauma.

She is trained in EMDR. Working with the whole family as well as the individual client is an essential part of Dr. Unger's approach. She uses methods from a variety of therapeutic schools, depending on the nature of the client's concerns.

Dr. Unger also currently works and consults a lower mainland hospital, focusing on diagnostic assessment. She has written a chapter in a book for parents who have a child with a handicapping condition.
