Martine Charles has over 20 years of experience in providing counselling to women and men. She offers counselling for a wide variety of difficulties including trauma (recent and past), addictions, anxiety, depression, and stress. She works from an approach that honours the voice and strengths of each unique individual.

Along with her counselling practice, she also teaches Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (based on the work of Jon Kabat-Zinn), and has a keen interest in meditation practice and its benefits for both physical and mental health.

She has a Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia in Interdisciplinary Studies (Counselling Psychology and Social Work). She is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and a Registered Social Worker-Clinical, approved for private practice. Her office is conveniently located in the Old Quarter of Nanaimo (downtown).
