Additional Information about this counsellor or psychologist:

Janny’s practice focuses on the treatment of depression (including postpartum depression) and relationship issues. She helps individuals and couples who are feeling sad, stuck, or depressed; who have low self-esteem; or who are frustrated and dissatisfied with their relationships.

Janny uses methods that are well documented as being effective for treating depression and relationship dissatisfaction. She has particular expertise in women’s depression and in helping women work through and move beyond negative experiences in close relationships. Janny uses emotion-focused therapy (EFT) in her work with couples. She works with couples who have trouble communicating and are tired of having the same old arguments; who feel a lack of intimacy and connection; who are dealing with infidelity; and with couples in which one partner is depressed.

Janny is a Registered Psychologist (#1131) and is certified at the highest possible level in EFT (supervisor/practitioner). As a former academic, Janny spent 15 years teaching counselling psychology, training counsellors, and studying women’s depression and close relationships.
