Additional Information about this counsellor or psychologist:
Jan Spilman is a Registered Clinical Counsellor who offers individual therapy and education to family caregivers, (people caring for ill, frail or disabled loved ones), and therapy and professional training to professional caregivers.
Through the Caregiver Wellness Program, she helps caregivers build and maintain emotional wellness as they support loved ones or clients.
The Program is particularly beneficial to family caregivers
- before and after diagnosis,
- after medical crises,
- through the months and years of long term caregiving,
- at the end of life and during bereavement or recovery from long term caregiving.
15 years as a loss and trauma therapist and 3 decades as a registered nurse have prepared Jan to support people through the many gifts and losses of caregiving. Her most important qualification, though, is 7 years experience as a family caregiver.
