Joan Schwartzenberger is a Registered Clinical Counsellor in private practice in Victoria, BC. She offers a variety of counselling services including support for those who have experienced addictions (e.g. alcohol and drugs, eating disorders) and trauma (e.g. abuse, loss). Joan uses mindfulness and relaxation techniques which research shows are extremely beneficial in reducing stress, allowing people to resolve their problems more easily.

Joan supports clients to overcome problems by sharing tools which enable them to tap into their inner resources; leading to increased self-esteem and self-confidence. Her overall goal is to assist people in leading happy, meaningful and rewarding lives.

Joan has a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology and has been working in the counselling field for 20 years in various settings, including the Women’s Sexual Assault Center and Mental Health and Addictions.

Joan also provides clinical supervision to counsellors.
