Additional Information about this counsellor or psychologist:

Jean started her working career as a registered nurse in South Africa, her native land. Although she loves Canada, Jean understands the stresses and strains of a move to another country and can empathize with those in a similar situation.

Her particular interests in the counselling field are relationship, marriage and family issues and she finds Bowen family systems theory a wonderful base from which to work. Personal growth issues are also of great interest to Jean and she has been thrilled to see huge changes being made in the lives of young as well as older individuals. Because humans are not solely a mind, Jean enjoys seeing the spirit and body incorporated into therapy, which facilitates healing and wholeness.

Utilizing the body in therapy can bring about profound changes, especially in the area of trauma and Jean uses her training in sensorimotor psychotherapy to assist clients with PTSD, phobias, anxiety and depression and somatic symptoms.

Jean is married with four grown children.
