Janice has a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology and is a Certified Canadian Counsellor with over 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents and families. Janice has worked successfully to help individuals and families improve relationships, increase their coping capacity and resolve developmental and behavioural issues. She has treated clients experiencing anxiety, depression, separation and divorce as well as trauma and abuse. Janice works with children of all abilities including those with learning and developmental disabilities and giftedness. A focus of her treatment is on supporting parents to build more secure attachments with their children and feel more effective in their parenting role.

Janice’s therapeutic work with clients incorporates talking therapy, play, and expressive therapies, as well as relaxation, cognitive-behavioural techniques and E.M.D.R. Janice also offers consultation and observation at schools, daycares or preschools as required. By offering family-centred support to both children and their parents, Janice helps to improve coping and communication skills and build more secure and rewarding relationships within families.
