Emi provides counselling to Japanese Canadians and immigrants on a variety of issues including anxiety, depression,cultural adjustment and confusion, identity struggles, self-esteem, posttraumatic stress, boundary issues, and assertiveness. Emi also has a passion for Japanese Canadians and their descendents who were affected either directly or indirectly by the internment of Japanese Canadians by the Canadian government during WWII.

In addition, Emi works with other Asian immigrant populations.

Emi's personal journey of self-discovery and self-healing is passed on to her clients, enhancing their growth as they gain new perspectives and fulfill their dreams. Her clients are empowered by making their own choices as they focus on their strengths to improve their lives.

A Registered Clinical Counsellor (#1897) and therapist, Emi has been counselling for 10 years. She is also a group facilitator and educator with extensive training and experience in Adlerian therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, relaxation and stress-reduction techniques, hypnotherapy, emotion-focused couples therapy, and Body-talk Systems.
