Additional Information about this counsellor or psychologist:

I have been a resident of Canada since 1998, and in practice as a Psychologist since 1986. Recovered myself, I have extensive expertise in the treatment of eating disorders, as well as the treatment of anxiety, depression, and adjustment problems such as relationship, family, and career issues. I divide my professional life between my private practice and teaching at Capilano University.

As a therapist, I believe that while it is important to understand how a person’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviours came to be problematic, it is equally important to develop skills and strategies for stress management and effective problem solving in the present and future. To this end, I use primarily a cognitive-behavioral approach to treatment, and tailor a therapeutic program to meet the needs of each individual I work with. Fifty-minute office visits in Vancouver or North Vancouver, or coaching via email, teleconference, or phone may be arranged through my "virtual office".  (See website for further information).

I offer consultations up to 15 minutes via phone or email free of charge.
