Additional Information about this counsellor or psychologist:

Wendy holds an MA in Counselling Psychology and is both a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC). She has counselled in a number of different settings and is currently in private practice at Fairview Counselling in Vancouver. She also works at the BC Cancer Agency, counselling cancer patients and their family members.

Wendy helps her clients explore and manage a variety of issues, including relationship concerns (such as communication challenges, conflict, separation and divorce), anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, parenting, and career development. She is particularly passionate about supporting her clients as they navigate transitions relating to identity, family, relationship, or career, and in their exploration of life’s purpose or meaning.  Her work draws upon several counselling theories and methods, including cognitive-behavioural, solution-focused, family systems, and existential therapies. In addition, she has specialized training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), an integrative therapy used in the treatment of trauma and anxiety, and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) for Couples.

Wendy is also trained as a lawyer and practiced law in Vancouver for several years before embarking on a counselling career. Through this career transition experience, she developed a keen interest in helping people explore their vocational interests and values, and ultimately achieve greater job (and life) satisfaction.

Wendy is actively involved with the BC Chapter of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and is currently the Chapter's Past President.
