Dr. Warren Weir is a Psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of B.C. He received his Ph.D. in Counselling Psychology from UBC with specific training in the psychotherapy of individuals, couples and families. In private practice since 1990, Dr. Weir’s therapeutic style now comprises an integration of cognitive-behavioural therapy with more process-oriented, experiential, client-centered approaches.

Dr. Weir has training and experience in therapeutic approaches to healing trauma, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Self-Regulation Therapy. With couples, Dr. Weir combines an emotion-focused orientation with a practical, research-based approach for maximum effectiveness. His recent clinical interests include Solution-Focused Therapy, Hypnotherapy, Jungian archetypes and the importance of an individual’s search for meaning, purpose and spiritual connection.

In addition to private practice, Dr. Weir enjoys teaching and training in counselling and psychotherapeutic approaches at local colleges and for the Gestalt Experiential Training Institute (www.geti-vancouver.org). Dr. Weir is the co-developer of the B-Sort for Intimate Relationships (www.b-sort.com), an interactive self-help Internet tool.
