My name is Natasha Barber and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors and a Registered Dietitians (RD) with the College of Dietitians of BC. Do you feel stuck? Are you wondering what is getting in the way of living the life you want? You are capable of healing, changing and growing.
Many people struggle with
- their relationship with food and exercise
- breaking old patterns and habits
- understanding or even feeling feelings
- being too sensitive
- feeling flustered in challenging situations
- making the changes they want to see in life
Many people know what to do and can make the changes they want to see, but struggle to maintain it. Or for some reason (sometimes out of fear) feel incapable of taking the steps to live the life they want.
Counselling can help you
- understand your relationship with food and exercise
- discover what is underlying old patterns and habits
- discover and acknowledge reasons to disconnect from feelings
- reconnect with yourself and your feelings
- understand and work with your perceptive self (your sensitive self)
- feel empowered when dealing with life’s challenges
- make the changes you want to see in your life
Through discovering and owning our humanness, namely the fact we are not perfect and it is okay, we discover ourselves. As we do this, we realize and feel that in every given moment we do the best we can with what we’ve got and we begin to weed out what is and is not our responsibility.
This includes helping us weed through the intense emotions glommed on to our experiences. As we go on this journey, we work towards healing our wounds which helps to free us from reacting to intense emotions and we begin to connect with who we are and act genuinely. This allows us to make the changes we want to see in our lives.
How much have I digested everything that I know and am, so when I write a sentence it comes out silent? What I mean by silent is that it communicates directly to your heart and mind, and there aren’t any squeaky words that don’t fit, words that are afraid. ~ Natalie Goldberg
When all is said and done, I have to face myself in my naked reality. ~ Marion Woodman
