Melanie is a Registered Clinical Counsellor who has experience working with adults who have a variety of complex therapeutic issues. Areas of practice include relationships, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, stress, life transitions, substance abuse, and parenting issues.

Melanie takes a client-centered approach to counselling and believes in using a variety of therapy tools, depending on clients needs. Prior to going into private practice Melanie worked for Peace Arch Community Services (now called Sources), White Rock/South Surrey's largest non-profit organization. She worked with both the professional counselling team and the Addictions Services counselling team. Many of these clients had complex therapeutic issues, such as trauma, mental health disorders, depression, and anxiety.

Melanie has experience facilitating psycho-educational groups on back to work transitions, substance use, and parenting. She is an approved provider for the Crime Victim Assistance program. She has received training in the Gottman Couples therapy approach, Systematic Training for Effective Parenting, Clinical Hypnosis through the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, and Emotional Freedom Technique.
