My practice focuses on the treatment of depression (including postpartum depression) and relationship issues. I help individuals and couples who are feeling sad, stuck, or depressed; who have low self-esteem; or who are frustrated and dissatisfied with their relationships.

I use methods of therapy that research has shown to be effective for the treatment of depression and relationship dissatisfaction. I have particular expertise in women’s depression and in helping women work through and move beyond negative experiences in close relationships. I use emotion-focused therapy (EFT) in my work with couples. I work with couples who have trouble communicating and are tired of having the same old arguments; who feel a lack of intimacy and connection; who are dealing with infidelity; and with couples in which one partner is depressed.

I am a Registered Psychologist (#1131) and am certified at the highest possible level in EFT (supervisor/practitioner). As a former academic, I spent 15 years teaching counselling psychology, training counsellors, and studying women’s depression and close relationships.
