Hi, I am a certified clinical counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. I see clients at an office in Comox, BC on Vancouver Island. I will see clients from the Comox Valley, including Royston, and Campbell River. I work with clients who are struggling with mental health and addictions issues (e.g., anxiety and mood disorders, early recovery and relapse prevention for addictions). I also work with couples and issues such as communication, conflict, and infidelity.

I spend time creating a strong rapport, a bond of trust, and confidential environment for my clients. I believe in the therapeutic relationship as the foundation that supports you in reaching your counselling goals. I believe that you are the expert of your life and that I am the witness who gets to observe the wonderful changes in you.

The therapies I use most often are dialectical behavioural therapy, solution-focused therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing and a variety of artistic modalities (e.g., painting). I believe I provide an environment that is validating, supportive, and encapsulates a place for personal growth, self-awareness, and self-hope. I use my energy to listen to you both through my sense of hearing and intuitively for the purpose of validation and to match my therapeutic strategies with your specific needs.

I have ten years experience working in the mental health and addictions field. I enjoy working with both adults and adolescents. I have a Master in Counselling, specializing in Counselling Psychology. I am a professional who is caring, empathic and non-judgemental and one who uses her counselling skills to get you through difficult times, for skills acquisition (e.g., emotional management skills), personal/professional growth (e.g., career change/self-identity), and to deal with mental health and addictions issues.

I am also a service provider for the Crimes Victims Assistance program.
