Barbara started her professional life in 1969 as a physiotherapist and in her practice learned from her patients the importance of addressing the whole person - body, mind and spirit.

Choosing to further her education, she completed a masters degree in Counselling Psychology and registered as a Clinical Counsellor in 1994. She continued her personal and professional development studying Bodynamic Analysis, a somatic, developmental psychology. She is a Certified Bodynamic Practitioner and has completed the Analyst Training.

Barbara believes strongly in therapeutic relationship, working with adults and blending traditional therapeutic interventions, experiential exercises and creative activities. Body centered approaches integrate verbal counselling techniques with body awareness and provide practical ways to assist clients to explore their inner world.

A special interest is working with people experiencing shock and trauma following car accidents or medical emergencies and with new born babies and their families following difficult pregnancies and birthing
