Barbara Partridge, of Arbutus Counselling Services, aims to enable clients to reach their goals and dreams. She uses every method, tool, and resource available to achieve this, and encourages clients to collaborate each step along the way.

Barbara has extensive experience counselling clients with social anxiety (shyness) and other anxiety disorders, eating disorders (including overeating), and depression. In addition, she has considerable experience with relationship counselling, OCD and panic, grief/loss/separation, and career counselling.

Barbara utilizes cognitive-behavioural therapy, client-centred therapy, solution-focused, and others. Hypnotherapy is used if the client desires it, and the counsellor believes it's appropriate for that individual's concerns.

In addition to her degrees from the University of BC (B.Ed. in Psychology and Special Education and M.Ed. in Counselling Psychology), Barbara's training includes courses in substance abuse counselling, hypnotherapy, anxiety and depression therapy, eating disorders, and relationship counselling.
