Throughout my professional life, I have been helping people move through the obstacles that prevent them from experiencing peace that comes with connecting with their true self. I have supported couples who want to understand and deepen the dynamics of their intimate relationships. I have worked with men and women, youth and families, in settings ranging from mountaintops and sweat lodges to workplaces and clients’ homes. My joy has been to see people grow in strength, confidence and happiness.

Some of the issues I can address with you with include:

  • Couples/Relationship issues
  • Adolescents
  • Depression
  • Anxiety/Phobias/Obsessive Compulsive Behaviour
  • Posttraumatic Stress
  • Anger
  • Trauma
  • Personal/Spiritual Development
  • Life Transitions

I work from a three-tiered approach that offers you the opportunity to choose your desired type and length of therapy, from Problem Solving, to Cognitive Behavioural therapy, to Deep Transformation. Whichever approach you chose for your therapeutic journey, I have a strong belief in honouring the uniqueness of your individual needs and making sure that the approach used is working for you.

The Problem Solving Approach:
There are some times in life when our circumstances create confusion or a feeling of being stuck. We go through the same cycle over and over without finding a way out. Maybe we have friends or family we can talk to, but it is difficult to get an objective opinion. Sometimes the advice we get is well intentioned, but it really doesn’t help us find our own voice, to find a path through the confusion.

My supportive/problem solving approach is meant to act as a mirror of clarity for you. It helps you see yourself and your problems in a new light. You can explore different solutions without judgement or bias. We work together as a team, combining my understanding of the general human experience with your understanding and knowledge of your own self and circumstances to develop short-term solutions to the problems you face and set you on a more effective path for your life. (1 session plus)

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT):
CBT is based on a cause-and-effect model demonstrating that when we change our thoughts around an experience, our feelings around that experience can change. When our feelings change a little bit we react differently, which helps to improve our thoughts, creating a positively reinforcing loop of positive thoughts and good feelings. (8-16 sessions)

Deep Transformation:
Deep Transformation counselling is available for those clients who are interested in a longer-term process with the goal of improving your mood, deepening your knowledge of yourself, magnifying your experience of life, and expanding your spiritual awareness.

Drawing on the analytic, experiential, and transpersonal traditions of psychotherapy, Deep Transformation may include dream interpretation, hypnotherapy, meditation, encounters with the nature. These, in addition to Problem Solving and CBT, provide the structure that supports you as you journey progressively through deeper levels of self, healing wounds from the past, uncovering your original nature, and discovering new personal strengths on which to build your future.
