Amanda is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with a private practice based in Vancouver. She also works as a counsellor for a community mental health team.

Amanda graduated from the University of British Columbia with her Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology. Amanda’s experience and interest lies in working with children, youth and adults experiencing symptoms of anxiety and/or depression and most of her clinical experience lies in such areas. She has worked with individuals and families, and has also facilitated therapeutic groups.

Amanda believes in using evidence based practices when working with clients. She is certified in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and works mainly from this perspective, although she does integrate other modalities, depending on the needs of the client. Amanda is also trained in Interpersonal Therapy for depressed adolescents (IPT-A).  She provides consultation for colleagues on both CBT and IPT-A.

Amanda believes that children, youth and adults are extremely resilient and with the proper support they are able to overcome obstacles and find the healing and personal growth that fits for them.
