Discovering Yourself Through Children’s Books Bedtime Stories for Grownups

offered by Jaminie Hilton, Registered Clinical Counsellor, BA Creative Writing

People long to share their own stories, and nothing prompts the willingness to share like listening to someone else's story.
This group is for anyone who loves children’s books. If you have journeyed through the joy, sadness, silliness, whimsy, suspense and soothing satisfaction of well-crafted literature, this is your opportunity to delve deeper and to discover what you can learn about yourself when you are moved by a story. After reading a story aloud, I will welcome and encourage the exploration of feelings, memories, dreams and wishes inspired by the story’s characters using a variety of creative prompts, which may include optional drawing.
This is not a writing class, but will be an invaluable experience for any writers present.. It is intended is to provide a safe, nurturing and easy path to increased self-awareness and healing.

I have been a therapist for 20 years. I have facilitated hundreds of groups. I am passionate about the healing potential in children’s literature.

Pre-requisite: Experience as a child, or a child at heart.

Cost:$40 per session, 8 week commitment. Phone or email with questions:

Event Date:
March 1, 2010

Ongoing Start Dates: the 1st of Each Month

Online 6 or 9 Session Seminars: Sexual Self-esteem for Women Facilitated and Moderated by: Elaine S. Stoll, Registered Clinical Counsellor

Sex can be pleasurable, fun... and confusing. It can create a bond or break a bond. Sex can create a 'high' and sex can take us into a deep low. And sex can be hurtful. It all just depends doesn't it? One of the things satisfying sex depends upon is good sexual self-esteem. Sex continues to be a difficult topic to talk about frankly and truthfully. Thus, the anonymity provided by an online seminar where you use a unique, time sensitive, screen name and password allows participants to be both frank and truthful. Previous participants have said about their participation in the online
seminar:

"I like the anonymity combined with professional assessment and input."

"I disclosed more because the others didn't know who I really was."

"I was able to sort through my sexual 'baggage'."

"I learned a lot about my sexual responses and sometimes lack of."

Because the seminars are online, start dates are flexible. Cost for the seminars is:

6 Session Seminar - $120.00
9 Session Seminar - $200.00
Secure online credit card payment available
