Sexual Abuse Therapist


Surrey Community Services’ Counselling Services Program requires a Sexual Abuse Therapist to provide long-term counselling to sexually abused children/youth, and their non-offending family members who are referred to the Sexual Abuse Counselling Centre.

Qualifications:
• Masters degree in Counselling Psychology, Social Work or equivalent from a recognized professional faculty with preferably several years of experience working specifically with sexually abused children and multi-problem families.
• Possess extensive knowledge of art and play therapy modalities with children, child development, family and group dynamics as well as other treatment approaches for working specifically within the area of sexual abuse therapy with children/youth.
• The ability to work independently, and as a member of a professional team as well as with other involved professionals in the community is necessary.
• The successful applicant must have excellent oral/written communications and computer skills.
• Criminal Records check is required.
• Own vehicle required.
• Both First Aid and a second language are considered assets.

Salary:
This is a permanent part-time position and the salary is $1670.10 per month, for a 14.5 – hour work week with some flexibility required for evening work with clients from time to time.
