Online Appointment Scheduling for CounsellingBC
July 5, 2011

Great news.  CounsellingBC has now integrated online appointment booking with counsellor listings on the site.

While it's fairly new we're really looking forward to your feedback. Do you feel it's something, as a client, that you would use?  Let us know at info@CounsellingBC.com

Note:  You will find therapists who use online appointment booking by scanning the list of names and looking for a tiny calendar icon beside their names.

New Smart Phone version of Directory is active!
October 25, 2010

Mobile Version of CounsellingBC

The new mobile version of the CounsellingBC.com Directory appears when people access the site via Smartphones (iPhones, Blackberrys, Androids, and other similar phones).  While the mobile version only contains the professional directory and lacks some of the features of the main site it does have a postal code search which is quite exciting and should be quite useful.

We anticipate with increasing use of smartpones that more people will see the convenience of accessing the site from their phones.

We look forward to your feedback once the mobile version is launched!

CounsellingBC.com donation to Watari Research Association
December 15, 2009

Over this holiday season, CounsellingBC.com is donating $1000 to Watari Research Association. Watari provides respectful counselling and services to those for whom substance misuse has been a problem in their own lives or the lives of their families.

This year, over the holiday season, CounsellingBC.com has donated $1000 to this worthy organization. While the organization does receive funding, the money the money that CounsellingBC.com is providing will be going towards bus tickets and childcare ,as well as some nutrition items to support individual counseling clients and new women’s therapeutic group. These types of (unfunded) extras greatly enhance the likelihood that individuals will be able to participate in the counseling that they desire to help themselves work through and overcome, addiction issues.

If you're interested in donating to this worthy cause as well you may click on the following link. Canada Donates

Interview with Dr. Sue Johnson on Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy
June 16, 2009

This interview was conducted with Dr. Sue Johnson.  It provides an overview of Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and information about her book, "Hold Me Tight".  Dr. Johnson has received numerous honours for her work, including the Outstanding Contributor to the Field of Couple and Family Therapy Award from the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.

Dr. Johnson teaches Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) around the world and her recently completed book, "Hold Me Tight: Seven Conversations for a Lifetime of Love" has already been translated into Spanish and Dutch.

The reviews of the book, and of Sue Johnson's work, have been universally positive and the success of the approach has been heralded in Time Magazine and the New York Times.

We hope you enjoy the interview.

Also, to find a BC therapist that is trained in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, go to the Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy page on this site.
